The newly constituted governing council of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) began work at the College Council Chamber on May 6, 2013.

Inaugurated by the Federal Government, April 30, 2013, the Council set to work in the College promptly, meeting with the College Principal Officers, Deans of Schools and Heads of Service Units.

In her welcome address, the Rector, Dr. Margaret Ladipo thanked the Federal Government for its timely constitution of the Board. More than before, she said the council will set purposeful direction for the general management of the affairs of the College. She noted that the management anticipates the assistance of the Governing Council in the fulfillment of the Federal Government transformation agenda which the Ministry of Education had keyed into.

Ladipo urged the Council, which is made up of very experienced and versatile leaders with eminent personalities to support, partner and lead the Management to the attainment of the College vision. “Our Vision is to become the leading higher institution in Nigeria by providing first grade academic, professional and entrepreneur education for the purpose of making a positive impact in the technological and social economic development in Nigeria.
